Volunteer

Rainbow Friends is always in need of volunteers to walk dogs, cuddle kittens, scoop poop, clean, build, or otherwise maintain and improve the lives of our residents.

Every volunteer will be given a short interview and an initial orientation.  These are generally conducted on Tuesdays at 10 am.  Here you will be given a tour of the property, shown the best way to enter/exit dog kennels, be given some dog-walking training, and shown the regime for scooping & cleaning catteries.  If there are other areas of interest to you this can be discussed.  Further training will be given as needed.

Volunteers are reminded that, when it rains, the property can become quite muddy.  You are therefore advised to wear old clothes that you do not mind getting dirty, including long pants and covered shoes or boots (but definitely not slippers!).  This is for your own comfort and safety.  Please also remember to wear sunscreen and to bring lots of water to drink.

Please call (808) 982-5110 to register for an interview/orientation session.
