Meet Snuggles’ Kittens!
Aug 26th
Snuggles was rescued by animal lovers and found very pregnant. In order to guarantee a safe delivery, Snuggles was brought to Rainbow Friends Animal Sanctuary where she gave birth to five beautiful kittens. They are now eight days old. Their eyes have just opened and they are starting to move around a little. Notice their beautiful eyebrows and soft fur. Snuggles is still being an outstanding mother to them, and they are very healthy little things. The kittens will available for adoption any time after September 20. People can of course pick one out before that.

August 2010: Snowy
Aug 4th
I am a beautiful snow white girl. When I arrived at the sanctuary I had lost a lot of my hair, but the folks here treated me for that and now I look really good. I would love to have a home of my own and am happy to share with other dogs, although I am a little fussy about who I decide to make friends with. Could I be a good fit with everyone in your family? I’m willing to try if you are!
Happy Endings (24): Little Bonita Hit It Good
Jul 21st
The Chihuahua-Terrier Mix Bonita spent only a few weeks at the sanctuary before she got adopted by Jay Jeffcoat and her family. Bonita will live inside a big house in Hilo with four adults, three children, one kitten and a cockatiel. There are also three mice and a terrarium outside. That means at any given time there will be someone around to spoil her, and boredom will never come up. Thank you Jay for making that possible for Bonita!
Great Workday!
Jul 19th
Thank you very much to all of you who helped at our workday on 17 July 2010. Everybody worked so hard, some to almost complete exhaustion. In total, about 20 people came! What a wonderful turnout! The animals thank you a lot for their new roofs on their dog houses and the clearing of their kennels in “Forest”. Woof, woof, job well done!
Rainbow Friends Animal Sanctuary Receives Grant From PETCO Foundation
Jul 8th
We are most grateful for the grant support of $5,000 from PETCO Foundation, a 501©(3) non-profit corporation that directly supports life affirming programs of animal welfare groups, such as Rainbow Friends Animal Sanctuary, to raise the quality of life for pets and pet owners. The grant monies will be used exclusively to help us fulfill one of our missions of trapping, spaying/neutering and releasing (TNR) of feral cats and also promoting the sterilization of pet cats as a humane and effective way of managing the cat population. These efforts are important to prevent over-breeding, to successfully stabilize and eventually reduce More >
