Panda Express Fundraiser

From 14 through 17 February 2011 Panda Express Makaala (Hilo) donates 20 % of their proceeds to Rainbow Friends Animal Sanctuary between the hours of 11:00 am and 8:00 pm. You must present the donation flyer in order for Rainbow Friends to benefit from the fundraiser. Flyers can be picked up at: Aloha Vet, East Hawaii Vet, Pet Hospital, Kilauea Vet, Del’s (on the bulletin board), The Aquarium Store. Come and eat for the animals!
Feb 2011: Thor
Feb 2nd
Thor came to us in the arms of two distressed young people. He was a small kitten with infected wounds on his head and scaly skin, very thin and sick. We took him to the vet where he tested positive for feline Leukemia. With medical treatment and lots of love, he slowly recovered from his wounds and grew into a beautiful, vibrant kitten. We retested him and he is negative, no longer infected with the virus! He is a sweet, playful and very handsome boy who would give you lots of love and entertainment!

Last summer you helped cure me of heartworm by very generously donating towards the high cost of my vet bills. I am very healthy now and I am ready to be part of my own family. I am a 70 lb, very friendly, golden retriever mix. I love to play with other dogs, but mostly I would like to hang out with you.
Work Day on Sat Jan 15th from 9 am to 1 pm.

This time we have specific requirements for the work day. We need people to entertain some of the dogs for several hours while their kennel areas are treated for ticks – that is a very long walk, does anyone feel like getting fit? The upstairs lanai also needs to be cleaned out and spruced up –start your spring cleaning early! We are always most grateful to everyone who helps out. This time we need you more than ever. Please let us know (phone 982 5110) if you can come along. As always there will be a potluck lunch to follow.

Taylor, our missing dog, was brought back last night. We are so happy and so is he… Thank you all for your help in bringing him home.
