Opening Hours
We are open for tours and adoptions from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm every day. You can also make an appointment if you wish.
Driving Directions
Rainbow Friends is situated in Kurtistown, which is on Highway 11 between Hilo and Volcano. Directions are given below:
From Hilo:
- Take Highway 11 towards Volcano until you reach the stop lights at Kurtistown (where the gas station and the 7/11 store are)
- Turn right onto Huina Road
- After 0.8 mile, take the 1st road on the right (Momona Road)
- Momona Road ends in a T-Junction with 13-Mile-Road. Turn left here.
From Volcano:
- Take Highway 11 towards Hilo until you reach the stop lights at Kurtistown (where the gas station and the 7/11 store are)
- Turn left onto Huina Road
- After 0.8 mile, take the 1st road on the right (Momona Road)
- Momona Road ends in a T-Junction with 13-Mile-Road. Turn left here.
Rainbow Friends Animal Sanctuary is the fourth driveway on your right. There is a sign at the gate. Please park in the parking lot at the side of the road.
