spay/neuter clinic for cats – this Sunday!!!
Jan 25th
A spay/neuter clinic for cats will be held in Leilani Estates this Sunday (February 5th 2012).
Please bring your cat along to this low cost clinic. Lets help reduce the number on unwanted kittens in the island.
Due to a grant from the Petco Foundation we are able to offer free spay/neuter of feral cats. Stray cats and domestic cats will cost just $45.
Feral cat colony caretakers, do you need help fixing the feral cats you take care of? Don’t miss this opportunity to have them spayed/neutered.
Please call 982-5110 to register.
new cattery
Jan 6th
We are pleased to announce that the Ti Room cattery has now been built, and is being occupied, thanks to a very generous donation by Udel Smith, which covered the cost of all the materials required. Thanks also to Larry Gallagher, Dale Crabtree, Marcia Krijgsman, Willem Wiessner and all the other volunteers who worked so hard on the construction.
26 cats were moved from their old premises in early December and they seem very happy. This new cattery allows more sunlight than their previous accommodation, and there are plans to attach an outside garden area for them at a later date.

Feb 2011: Thor
Feb 2nd
Thor came to us in the arms of two distressed young people. He was a small kitten with infected wounds on his head and scaly skin, very thin and sick. We took him to the vet where he tested positive for feline Leukemia. With medical treatment and lots of love, he slowly recovered from his wounds and grew into a beautiful, vibrant kitten. We retested him and he is negative, no longer infected with the virus! He is a sweet, playful and very handsome boy who would give you lots of love and entertainment!
Snuggles is a foster mom too!
Sep 3rd
During our recent spay/neuter clinic a tiny kitten was brought in which, at approx 2 weeks old, was way too young to be neutered and should still have been with his mom. However mom was not around and so Snuggles came to the rescue. We tentatively introduced the new kitten to Snuggles and her family and right away she started licking and feeding him. A week later and the new arrival is quite at home with his new family.
Sept 2010: Snuggles’ Kittens
Sep 2nd
This month we have not 1, but 5, adorable pets all looking to be adopted into loving homes. They are the beautiful kittens that were recently born to Snuggles the cat. When Snuggles was rescued she was very pregnant and the only safe place for her to give birth to five beautiful kittens was here at Rainbow Friends. In the first photograph they are only eight days old, their eyes were not long opened and they were starting to move around a little. Notice their beautiful eyebrows and soft fur.

Meet Snuggles’ Kittens!
Aug 26th
Snuggles was rescued by animal lovers and found very pregnant. In order to guarantee a safe delivery, Snuggles was brought to Rainbow Friends Animal Sanctuary where she gave birth to five beautiful kittens. They are now eight days old. Their eyes have just opened and they are starting to move around a little. Notice their beautiful eyebrows and soft fur. Snuggles is still being an outstanding mother to them, and they are very healthy little things. The kittens will available for adoption any time after September 20. People can of course pick one out before that.
April 2010: Phoebe
Apr 1st
Hi! I am Phoebe and I am terribly busy all day, going in and out as I please, and finding plenty of fun things to do around the Sanctuary. I am always ready for someone to stop and spend some time petting and telling me how wonderful I am. I get along with other cats and “tolerate” dogs, after all, being a cat you have to just tolerate them, don’t you? I would love to have my own family or person to spoil me on a daily basis, is that you?
