Mar 2012: Taffy
Mar 1st
I am one of 4 puppies that are all looking for a home of our own. They say that I am a heeler/chow mix so will probably be about 35 lbs when fully grown. At present I am about 3-4 months old so I have a lot of growing up to do. I do need some training but I am really smart and will learn quickly. Do you have room in your life for a bundle of joy like me? Please visit the ‘Dogs’ page to see photos of my brothers too!
puppies for adoption
Feb 20th
There are 4, very cute, puppies looking for adoption. They were at a foster home for a while but are now back at the sanctuary. They desperately need homes of their own.. They are all male and we think that they are heeler/chow mixes, so will probably be about 30-35 pounds when full grown. Please come by the sanctuary and visit with them – they would love to go home with you!
volunteer orientation sessions changed to Mondays
Feb 17th
The orientation sessions for new volunteers will now be held on Mondays at 2pm.
This is chance to visit the sanctuary and find what what you can do to help look after the 300+ animals that live here. Sessions last approximately 1+1/2 to 2 hours. You should wear old clothes (things can get a bit muddy sometimes) and for health & safety reason wear long pants and covered shoes or boots.
Please visit our volunteers page for more details. Call (808) 982 5110 to register.

Feb 11th
Our cute little puppies are now in a foster home so that they can have lots of attention, and some training. They are still available for adoption though. Please contact the sanctuary on 982 5110 to arrange to see them.
cute puppies available for adoption
Feb 8th
These cute little guys (and yes, they are all male) are about 5 weeks old and will be available for adoption very soon. The vet says they are chow/heeler mix so will probably be about 30-35 lbs when full grown. If you are looking for a puppy, please contact the sanctuary on 982 5110.

successful cat clinic
Feb 6th
A total of 52 cats came to our spay/neuter clinic on Sunday. Thank you to all the responsible pet owners and colony caretakers for making this clinic a success. Thanks also to Dr Hatt, Sandi Alstrand and all the volunteers who worked so hard.
There will be another clinic for cats, and a separate one for dogs, sometime in the near future. More information will be posted here as soon as the dates have been confirmed.
Feb 2012: Pita and Buddah
Feb 1st
We are brothers and best friends. We love playing together and with other dogs. We are full of energy and just love, love, love to play. We do great together and on our own, so we can be adopted separately. If you have a nice fenced yard for us to play in that would be awesome. We would be so happy and we are sure that we would make you happy too.
spay/neuter clinic for cats
Jan 25th
A spay/neuter clinic for cats will be held in Leilani Estates this Sunday (February 5th 2012).
Please bring your cat along to this low cost clinic. Lets help reduce the number on unwanted kittens in the island.
Due to a grant from the Petco Foundation we are able to offer free spay/neuter of feral cats. Stray cats and domestic cats will cost just $45.
Feral cat colony caretakers, do you need help fixing the feral cats you take care of? Don’t miss this opportunity to have them spayed/neutered.
Please call 982-5110 to register.
